The existing sound studio was converted into a ’state of the art‘ Dolby Atmos – studio for the new ZHdK ‚Sound Design‘ studies. After detailed planning and scheduling of the works, the complete deconstruction and rebuilding of the space, re-using, re-arranging, and adding acoustic wall paneling, as well as integrating multiple sound & loudspeaker installations, could be successfully implemented in the short construction period of the university’s summer semester holidays. The studio received an officially quality certification by Dolby Atmos. The sound designers for the cinema sound of tomorrow are now being trained at this location.
